It’s been a while since I’ve written anything in my blog. Not that I don’t have something to say, I’ve been taking it easy. I had foot surgery (right foot) in January and I’ve been recovering. This is my first and hopefully last time to have surgery. It’s been an experience for sure! I took 2 weeks off from my music teaching duties to rest. However, one week after my surgery I had a show with the band. I love to play and I hate to cancel gigs so I thought “oh, I can do a gig one week after having major foot surgery, no problem!” Thankfully, my band mates were extremely supportive and I managed to survive a 4 hour show. I’ve had 3 band performances since my surgery and I’ve had to sit down at all 3. If you’ve been to my show and seen me perform, you’ll know that this was and is a very difficult thing for me to do. I like to move around a lot and interact with the crowd. I’m fortunate that I’ve been able to perform even sitting down and I’m always grateful for the opportunity to play. I hope by mid-March I’ll be standing up. I have to patient, the healing process is slow. I can dig it though, my foot is going to be so much better than it was.
